I am so honored that my picture book "I Will Not Be Afraid" is used to minister to children in difficult circumstances. The publisher, Concordia, uses its Gospel Outreach program to send this and other biblically-based books to children affected by tragic events such as tornadoes and school shootings. "I Will Not Be Afraid" lets children know that God is in control, even in the midst of the most difficult circumstances. To support this ministry, and ensure that children receive a message of hope in the midst of crises, visit today.

The expression, “Get Real!” is a common one. You’ve probably said it yourself, right? And, it’s the theme for this month's essay contest.  Using the “Get Real!” concept, write an essay about what it means to “Get Real With God.”

Write from your point of view (first person).  Feel free to tell us about an example of how you have “gotten real” with God, or use this opportunity to share what you think it takes to “get real” with God! Have fun! All entries must be turned in by the end of May. I'll be sending a free book to the first and second place winners.

*In order to participate, you must be going into first through sixth grade for the 2016-2017 school year.
*Essay must be no longer than 500 words.
*Have fun and write from your heart!

Submit completed essays to by May 31st.

Good luck!!!!
